Alagappa Chettiar College of Engineering and Technology founded by Philanthropist Dr. R.M. Alagappa Chettiar started functioning in 1952 and came under the control of the government of the Tamilnadu from 1.7.1966 onwards. It is an autonomous institution permanently affiliated to Anna University, Chennai and is selected by the World Bank to participate in the Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP) phase-II. The sprawling 218.55 acres beautiful campus of the institute is well equipped with the best of breed infrastructure provides an excellent environment to the students and scholars towards pursuing their academic education and research. The institute offers 5 undergraduate, 7 post graduate and Ph.D. programmes in all major disciplines of Engineering and Technology.

DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING

 

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) was established in the academic year 1969. The department is offering an UG course in ECE, PG course in Optical Communication and Ph.D. programmes. The department has a team of highly qualified and dedicated faculty members. The department has laboratories with modern and state-of-the-art equipments like electronic workbench, well-furnished seminar hall, excellent computing facilities and a library with several volumes of books.The department owns software packages like Net-sim 8.0, HFSS, Cadance,Ps-pice, Opti system, OrCad. The alumni of the department are spread far and wide across the globe holding eminent positions in industries, academia and civil services.

ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING ASSOCIATION

 

 Electronics and Communication Engineering Association is functioning from the time the department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was established. Every year this association conducts a national level symposium under the name of PRAGYANZ. The aim of this association is to enhance the students’ knowledge in the field of Electronics and Communication and encourage them to do research oriented projects.
